  1. Hi,
i have no idea if you will read this, but ever since i went through “fooled by randomness”, things in my mind changed. I dont have perfect writing english and i am sorry for that. But after fooled by randomnes, that i got on audiobook and listened to about 3 times / the whole / and some fractions more times. I got the black swan and it was also incredible. I bought fooled by randomness on a paperback, but to be honest i am a bit scared of reading it again, because it is a huge game changer for me. Also i got the Antifragile and havent started it yet, but plan on doing so. I am very grateful to you for writing and publishing these books. They changed my aproach to life and to my online poker career. Now i am much more skeptic and always have in mind that all can be pure luck. Also that all can go wrong very fast and i am working on being more robust in all areas. Anyway it got too long and i would hate to bore someone like you, if you somehow decided to read this. I am making a dream come true, by writing to you. Wish you all the best and thanks for everything 🙂

  2. I too was affected be ” Fooled By Randomness” , as in college many years ago I made my own observations about the strange understanding that academics had of “randomness”, which was decidedly at considerable variance to my own (at some point had very defInite ideas about randomness, as we were obliged to formulate such). I am somewhat older than Taleb, and a scientist rather than mathematician. Found it scarey too, as better defined than my own understanding. Thanks for your comment. Will try the audiobook!

  3. I just heard of you on the David Pakman Show on YT.
My son is looking into becoming a statistician but we are curious as to what you do exactly.
His name is Ryan. He’s almost 17. He’s a Junior in HS. He just got his report card! Wow!! He absolutely loves Math and Chemistry and even corrects the teacher!
Thank you for your time. I am going to mention your book to Ryan. Sounds interesting.

  4. Congratulations on your book successes.
I just finished your “The Black Swan” book.
I appreciate your emphasis on the importance of long slow walks in the day. In my recent retirement, I have come to appreciate these slow walks and although I don’t walk with wise philosophers and thinkers, just my two canine best friends.
I had a Lebanese employee, a hygienist, who was one of my best employees. I greatly admired her openness, hard work and love she showed all the patients and staff.
Your book mentions the seeming advantage of years of experience and knowledge (i.e. Mother Nature) and the way luck plays out in our lives.
I come from a slightly different perspective. Some of my friends and I have the blessings of being on the other side of life (NDE, etc.). They all come back, not trying to avoid a negative Black Swan or trying to achieve a positive Black Swan but the importance of teaching others to choose love over fear. They focus less on the physical things and more on spiritual things.
They all come back knowing their is a being that knows ever atom in the universe and every thing that will occur. They come back sometimes with knowledge of future things that do not come from models or predictions but from God himself.
    Blessings in all your experiences.
    Rev. Dr. Stephen A. Lawrence
